Easton's Birthday

It was our nephew Easton's Birthday Party yesterday and he was turning two years old.  I made him Dirt and Worms for his 'cake' and it went over quite well with all his family and friends that were there.  Thanks for the great party Easton!

The Little Man's 1st Hair Cut

Thanks to my sister today.....Bryce got his first haircut.  He has needed one for a little while now and it just never seemed to work for us to take him.  So he was at my sister's house today and she had a hair appointment so he got his done too.  He looks so big sitting there in these pictures her son took.  Wish I could have been there but oh well.   They sent home some of the hair and we can all enjoy these photos.

Hey Cindy....whatcha doing?

Working Back At Home

This weekend Cody and I were helping my parents and brother with the usual spring cattle work.  We chased and processed two groups of cows and calves.  Its always so nice riding through the coulees and hills at this time of year.  Thanks to mom who watched the little man so I could ride horse to gather and help out with processing.

This is whats left of the house my dad and his siblings grew up in

Back at the yard now and chasing them into the corrals

Once we sorted the cows and calves we ran the cows through the chute and gave them their needles and Ivomec then started on the calves.  I caught them hard at work a couple times.

Two days done and I think there is at least one day more to go next weekend.
But they asked us to come back so we can't be to bad at our jobs.
I know good help is hard to find.

Our Duck Nest

On the weekend when I was walking through the garden pulling weeds and happen to walk by the raspberry patch.  It is in need of a lot of TLC with all the grass growing in it.  But when I was about three feet away a duck flew up out of the patch and scared me slightly.   (actually a lot)  So when I went in for a closer inspection this is what I found.

I counted eleven eggs.  I was worried that they wouldn't come back to their nest after but yesterday when I was showing the nest to Cody she was back.  So we might get to see some ducklings this summer.  Not sure why they made their nest in the raspberries with all the water in the area.

Trying to Get Fired?

We babysat my sister's three kids while the forth was at a 4-H Rodeo about an hour away.
Saturday went pretty good.  It was cold and raining so they stayed inside most of the day playing games, coloring, playing Wii and helping me cook.  After supper we had a movie party downstairs with popcorn!
Sunday was going pretty good.  It started of with Cody making the kids and me breakfast (which doesn't happen to often).  It was such a nice day outside that we spent the afternoon in the sandbox making trenches around the castle and having fun.  Then their mom phoned to say they were on their way home so I went inside to start getting supper ready.  Well just as my sister was pulling into the yard I went outside to start the bar-be-que and check on the kids and this is what I found.

They decided to have a sand/water/mud fight.  It was fun and games until the little one started getting cold.   Ask them if they like staying at Aunty Jo's house!  But maybe don't ask their mom about doing laundry.  It may look like I am trying to get fired from babysitting kids but I have a feeling this won't slow business down much!

My Little Man

Its been a long weekend for my little man.  He has not been feeling his usual self.  I am pretty sure it is reactions from his one year needles because he has been really sleepy, sick to his stomach and the other 'end' has not been very pleasant either.  I took these pictures last week when he was feeling normal.

He loves his camping chair he got last Christmas and he thinks he is petty smart putting his milk in the cup holder.  He has since quit drinking from the bottles and now on sippy cup full time.
Good work little man.

And now that he is walking he thinks he can climb into, over and on anything.
Including his toybox.
