Birthday Party #1

Joanne's family came over to celebrate Bryce's as well as Andria's (our niece) Birthdays on Saturday evening.  My one sister and her family were unable to attend but we still had a big crowd for the evening.  We had a great visit outside enjoying the nice afternoon and the kids played in the sandbox.  Then we moved into the garage where we had the tables, chairs and decorations set up for supper.  After a great meal we moved into the basement so the kids had room to open presents and try out all the new gifts.

We hung up icicle lights and the banner to try and improve the look of the garage

They are suppose to be a topsy-turvy and a puppy cake if you can't tell

 Blow out your candle

He stayed very clean at the start and then got it in his hair and all over his face so he went straight to the bathtub and into his pajamas for the rest of the night.

Let me go mom, the kids are playing with my other presents

Thanks for all the great presents everyone gave Bryce and for coming to his party!

What a Way to Start a Long Weekend

Cody sprained his ankle today at a cattle branding.  He was getting off his horse after roping a calf to help someone and stepped in a hole and twisted his ankle.  After x-rays at the hospital the Dr said it wasn't broke just badly sprained and to stay off it for the next few days.  So much for the other brandings he was suppose to attend this weekend (including our own).  The swelling has gone down a lot already tonight and has started bruising pretty good.  Here's hoping to a good night sleep because I have a lot to get done now before Birthday Party #1 tomorrow.

Bryce Is One

On Tuesday our little man turned one.  We are having his family birthday parties this weekend but we gave him a couple gifts to open Tuesday morning.  And man does he love his dump truck!

The Sand Box

Bryce got a load of sand from his Uncle and Aunt for his birthday.  It was a huge load of sand.  So on the weekend we (with help from the Uncle and Aunt) built a box around it and after a lot of shoveling we have a sand box that should fit a lot of kids and bring a lot of joy for many years to come.

Standing beside the big pile the morning it was delivered

Hmmm lets see what this tastes like

Bryce would like to thank his Aunt and Uncle very much

Chasing Cows

We were over at Cody's brother's Lee and Leanne's to chase cows.  It was a very windy day but everything went pretty good.

 Leaving the yard

Gathering them in the field

Half the crew waiting on the road to turn them the right way

Still gathering....but getting closer

Still Waiting

And they are on the road

They seem to be in a hurry to get to the new pasture

Uh-oh  Pit stop at the neighbors place
Good thing they get along good with the neighbor!
They were helping chase the cows in fact

And away they go again

Tractor Work and Fencing

On the weekend we were busy trying to get some fencing done for our new horse pasture as well Cody had to 'roll' three fields for his boss.  Bryce and I took lunch to him and went for a short ride in the tractor.  Bryce loved it!  I think we have a little farmer in the making.

Once Cody finished rolling we went back to our place to work on the fencing.  Bryce was lots of help then too!  Bryce and I drove the truck and Cody pounded posts.

Hey Dad!  Hows it going?

Tuckered out from the hard work

Trixie was lots of help too!  Her job was to kill the mice she saw and she was busy!
